KULWA LEONARD NSHISHI

Mr. Kulwa Leonard Nshishi is founder and Managing Partner of Nshishi Attorneys and Tax Consultants and head of advisory services. He is responsible for managing and developing the consulting services of legal, taxation and finance. He has a 36 years working experience in fields of taxation, finance and legal services.

Prior to founding Nshishi Attorneys and Tax Consultants Mr. Kulwa Leonard Nshishi was working with the Tanzania Revenue Authority until his retirement on 25th May 2018

In his 36 years of working experience, he worked in various areas of the tax administration including accounting for collected tax revenue and determination of taxable income in the then Treasury Income Tax Department under the Ministry of Finance. He rose to the senior and Principal Assessor of Income Tax as well as Principal Tax Officer with Domestic Revenue Authority. He assisted the Tanzania Revenue Authority in strategic tax audits, assessments of corporate taxes, preparation and attending tax cases to the Tax Revenue Appeal’s Board and Tribunal. Settlement of tax disputes of taxpayers with the Large Taxpayer’s Department for the last 4 years prior to retirement in 2018 when was transferred to the Large Taxpayers Department from Arusha Region where he was leading the Large Taxpayer’s unit (Medium Taxpayer’s Office)

He had a Master’s Degree of Business Administratiton (MBA) from the Eastern and Southern Management Institute ESAMI Arusha, LLB (Honours), (Open University of Tanzania), Advanced Diploma in Tax Management (ADTM) from the Institute of Finance Management, Dar es Salaam and Diploma in Materials Management (DMM) from the National Board for Materials Management, Dar es Salaam. He also attended workshop and short courses of International taxation at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, strategic management in the administration of taxes in Singapore, Malaysia and China. Mr. Kulwa Leonard Nshishi is also an Advocate of the High Court, an active member of Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), East African Law Society and Life member of Pan Africa Lawyers Union.
